What's Real?
They say the picture of President Bush standing on the
deck of an aircraft carrier outfitted in a jump suit will
be the defining image of his presidency and the perfect
photo for his re-election campaign in 2004.
But Democrats complain that the picture was staged, pointing
out that because the carrier was only 39 miles from shore,
Bush could have saved the tax payers money by taking his
customary mode of transportation, helicopter. "Then
there was the carrier's position," wrote Time Magazine,
"which had to be tilted to obscure any view of the
nearby coastline and ensure a picture-perfect azure backdrop."
What else about that Kodak Moment wasn't as it seemed?
