Dear Mr. Tosh Welch,

Thank you. Were it not for you and your principles, the state of North Carolina and perhaps the United States of America might have been represented by a young woman who had once been photographed topless inside her dorm room. Especially given the time and effort it must have taken for you to write an e-mail to pageant officials a single e-mail so compelling that they found it unnecessary to request proof of the photos existence! it is clear that you are acting only out of noble concern for the moral sanctity of the Miss America pageant.

Unlike Vanessa Williams, Miss Revels did not willingly participate in an official nude photo shoot. So without your brave revelation, our nation never would have known about what goes on, with or without her consent, in the privacy of Miss Revels residence. For all we know, other pageant candidates might also have changed their clothing without stepping behind a screen. But, alas, they did not have a boyfriend like you, ready with a camera. Because of you, we now know the truth behind Miss Revels years of dedication to academic achievement, public service, and the Lumbee Native American nation, and she shall rightly be denied further recognition or opportunity. It is always inspiring to see that behind every great woman is a man with the power to bring her down.

Some might call you an bitter ex. I call you a hero.
