is Bogus (Yet another effort by LB to trivialize
serious pain and suffering)
As long as we're embroiled in "Operation Iraqi Freedom",
non-enlisted Americans will have to make quite a few serious
sacrifices in their day-to-day lives. Here are some of the
peace-time creature comforts we're giving up:
- Reliable Tivo settings thanks to last-minute
Presidential press conferences.
No hour-long Friends this week.
- Expectation that one day Osama bin Laden will
be caught and punished
- Daily watercooler conversation about Seinfeld
re-run viewed the previous night
- Spare Depleted Uranium donated to neighborhood
Uranium drives
- Bottom 2" of tv screen given up to constant
scrolling news ticker which reports the same exact thing
as the guy on screen. Oh wait, that's not new.
- One pair of underwear every time a car horn
blows
- Any expectation of living past the age of 27
- Regret over realization that money towards college,
and a couple weekends a month might not have been such
a great idea after all
